Hello from Singapore
« on: September 19, 2019, 16:50:48 PM »
Hi everyone.  I am somewhat new to machine sewing, having started only this year and because of that my academic research happens to fall into the same sector. - i am using my mum brother printer. I am contemplating if i should get the digital 1. Hers is the manual 1.

Mainly, I do small-scale quilting and free-motion embroidery. I have also been known to sew little personalized hanky for my girl. I havent venture into full 1 piece of shirt and stuff.

A little more about me - I am a student cum full time worker in the IT industry, after a long career and because of the exposure i have, i realized sewing does help me with my stress level at work and in school.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and learning from you.

Welcome to the group. You'll get great help and encouragement both from the Darksiders ( our name for patchwork and quilting people) and don't hesitate to ask away for help with garment construction.

@dylansu18 welcome!  It's always good to meet someone new here.  My interests are similar to yours; small-scale quilting (e.g. placemats) and free-motion embroidery (mostly holiday-themed wall-hangings.)
You can't scare me. I taught high school for 32 years.

Welcome from me too! Sewing is the best remedy for stress - except when something goes wrong!

Hi and welcome from me too.
I’m new too, everyone is just so lovely and friendly here x
I agree with you about how sewing is a fab way to let all stresses go. I can lose hours when I get stuck into crewel work!
