Looks like a chainstitch part for a sewing machine but I don't know for definite.

Thanks for thinking about it.  Doesn't go with the Featherweight then, thought it might be a foreign body.

It looks the same as the brackets that hold my narrow venetian window blinds.

In the pic it's upside down, the pivoting clip has to be at the top.

The bracket is screwed to the wood with two small screws, then the top box of the blind is hooked onto the bracket and the pivot clip is closed to lock the top box in place.

Video here from 2.35 shows how it works.

Thank you Morgan, I knew someone on here would know.  Our members know everything between them.  No chance of fitting it to the machine then?   :P

I agree with the blind bracket.  I am looking at one on the windowsill that got broken when something caught in my Roman blind.  It's waiting for inspiration for a way to fix it
Life's too short for ironing.

Because it came with the attachments for a Featheweight,  I thought it had a chance of being for a machine.  I could identify all the other things, but not that one.  In the end, I sent a picture to Helen Howes, asking for her ideas. Unfortunately she is in hospital for a few days, but I sent another email when we knew what it was.  If she has had stitches, I hope she didn't laugh too much.
