I made this beach bag for my sister- in-law, she and my brother are off to Portugal this week, lucky things!

Its looks great and I love the idea of using blackout lining (I've got a load of it in the cupboard so its given me ideas on how to use some of it up).
Did you use a commercial pattern?

Thanks to all of you for your lovely comments, much appreciated.

@annieeg I started with a free pattern, this one, http://www.museofthemorning.com/museblog/tag/beach-bag/
but reduced it in size radically as that is, as it says, a GIANT beach bag. I changed the size of the pocket and only put one. I made longer handles and used a toning bias binding to finish the top edge.  I can’t say whether I’d recommend this pattern since the finished article is so different from their pattern!
