HELP!!!
« on: September 29, 2019, 14:03:57 PM »
I've broken my machine.
I inadvertently pressed the foot pedal while there was no fabric under the foot. I remedied that, and it seemed a few stitches a d the thread broke.
No it is completely stuck. If I turn by hand it grounds and won't move. The lever, between 1 and 2 when threading is stuck down and won't move at all.
Nothing moves and it just grounds at me. Nothing unscrews.
Any ideas? I can't send it away for over a week.

Stitches' offer sounds ideal - it's so much easier to diagnose what's wrong with a machine if you're actually sat in front of it. :)

Yes please, although we'll take it in on Wednesday on our way to France, so don't worry if it's inconvenient

Hi Lowena,

Sometimes mine does a similar thing, though it’s not a Brother. It’s usually when there’s a tangled lump of thread caught up below the plate. If you can unscrew the foot plate and get the bobbin out you might be able to see better what is going on.

Sounds like you have a ball of thread underneath.  I did that when I first got my Mega Qulilter.  I didn't have the bottom bobbin in so it just wrapped and wrapped underneath.  Took me ages to clip out and I hadn't just done it a few times, it was quite a lot.  I was a real wally.

It wasn't thread related @Gernella it just seemed to have seized up and jammed
