Simplicity 8377 - knit fabric make

I am making this https://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-storefront-catalog/patterns/women/sportswear/simplicity-pattern-8377-misses-knit-cardigan-with-variations-and-multiple-pieces-for-design-hacking/ with some really nice dot and stripe knit I bought from @Francesca .
The pattern calls for interfacing the facings, but I think it will won't drape nicely, as the knit is quite thickish.
If I use staytape (I have bias staytape) on the seams around the front and neck and then attach the facing, I think that will be substantial enough.
I just wondered if anyone else has any ideas on this point.
I will post pics when the coatigan is finished.

I made a coatigan, my then 3yo DGS took one look and said ‘Is that you new dressing gown Grandma?’

Funny, I went right off it after that :S

Here's a picture of the coatigan.  I think it came out quite well and I really like the fabric.
This pattern could become my go-to TNT.
I could really do with a recommendation for a non-fusible (for stretch-knit) interfacing if anyone knows  of one.

I have another fabric to hand and will hopefully make another one shortly.
