Halloween hits the ballroom!

Halloween hits the ballroom!

The ballroom dance competition with the halloween-themed rumba couples event finally arrived!

Glittery cobweb organza overskirts, crochet cobweb 'floats', spider & bat earrings and giant spider buncovers took to the floor for a lovely Rumba. We won no prizes this time in the fancy dress - far too pretty I was told (I can't help myself) but now they are in the adult category there wasn't time for getting changed with all the bits and pieces plus scary makeup after the previous ballroom presentations. Fortunately they loved their outfits so didn't mind the loss of the chocolate prize too much for once, certainly not being short of other trophies.

Blind bun spider and mini crochet web in progress         All the better to see you with!

Arachnoid perch                                                           Ready to spin  their spidery magic across the dancefloor
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.

Ah, capital I.  I was thinking beady is, (which is OK said with the right emphasis).  Need stronger glasses.

Great costumes @Marniesews but I wouldn't be able to cope with that big spider on my head, hare the things. Though we are going to make spiders at our Halloween party.

You'd be okay with the one of your head if you avoid mirrors - it's the one leering at you over your partner's head that will terrify you!  :o

They look good to me and thought it's probably only my opinion to me they are far nicer than the ones the dancers were wearing on Strictly Saturday night
