Rouleau Loop video tutorial

I came across this today whilst looking for something else (as you do).  I already use this method having been told about it by somebody here but I think the video is helpful
I wonder if anybody has a trick for starting things off as that is definitely the difficult bit!

I use Claire Shaeffer's method.

For turning the tube I use heavy duty or top stitching thread and a tapestry needle.  It goes inside the tube easily.  Make sure the end you are starting at is wide to make it easier.  Dampen your fingers to start it off and once you’ve got the fabric going it’s really quick and easy.

I also do the damping and stretching bit and it works well.  I never cut on the straight grain because I don’t think it looks right, always on the bias.

I use a hair grip.  I make a cut across the strip (it is always longer than I need) to the stitching aboutn 0.5cm down and thread this loop onto a hair grip.  Pop the hair grip into the tube and then push it through.  Easy as pie!
A measly 2.5m of stash used so far!
