I was mulling over what to make with this fabric

and came across this frighteningly expensive dress. Now looking for some sort of pattern as a starting point. Does anyone has ideas, come across a pattern that might work?

Problem solved, I analysed the picture and made my own pattern.

Well done, although I was all up for a pattern search.  I might still look, anyway.

Fabulous fabric  :loveit:
And I knew you'd be able to make a pattern yourself!  Can't wait to see the end result.

I was going to suggest a hack between two patterns - a kaftan and a sleevless shift dress, then do what you will with the side seam of the kaftan.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

This is almost what I did. I took my dress pattern sloper and drafted a kimono sleeved  front on one side. Mine won’t be maxi, I prefer midi.
