Rotary cutters, no luck with using them

I use both, but I do like the rotary for cutting donut frills in lycra as I get a really clean edge that needs no finishing    Lycra blunts the blades in no time though, shame no-one's invented a ceramic rotary blade yet.

Scissors for me - I couldn't afford a big enough board to use a rotary cutter for dressgarment making
I do have a rotary cutter that's attached to a straight edge ruler, a bit like a paper cutter, that's ok, but even trying to use a rotary cutter with a ruler, I can roll it over the ruler
