The front edges of this have not worked so well.  :SMade this before and it was fine but this has more stretch. Think I'll put some shirring elastic on to see if it will correct it.

That is nice, and I love the fabric too, what is it?
Can I ask how the front edges are finished?  Is it with a facing?  I can't tell from the pic.

Did you use a stabiliser in the front edges?

Thanks all for your comments. The fabric was from Fabricland last year, it is a ponte knit with a self-coloured design, not quite sure if it is jacquard knit, I think it has more stretch than that. I will post a closeup of it.  I did the hem first and that was fine -didn't stretch. I wanted a double turn for the edge and thought about interfacing but decided it might be too fiddly. Regretting that now!

Lovely fabric and nice design.

I am a great lover of fusible knit interfacing and have used it to good effect to stabilise hems and turnings. If the pattern doesn't have facings, I cut a strip about 1inch wide and apply making sure the the facing is over the crease of the turning/hem. I've even used it on woven fabric.

Finally managed to fix this - at least, it's much better than it was. Lesson learnt for next time.
A bit annoyed as I checked the first one I made which I had used interfacing. Thought I could save time this time I guess, never a good idea!

I love that fabric and pattern.  I've been looking for a blouse pattern like that and I'm just wondering if I can adapt it to a blouse without having to think about it too much.
What do you think?

Surestitch, I think this would be difficult as this pattern is for stretch fabrics, and for a blouse you normally need wovens. For a blouse I can recommend Butterick 6324 which I have made twice and been delighted with it. http://www.sewdirect.com/acatalog/Butterick-6324.html
I made Views C and D but without the overlay.

Thank you so much for replying, I sent for the pattern earlier today from Amazon arggggh.  Never mind I like the jacket anyhow and it will give me a good excuse to visit some fabric shops, I need a new summer jacket anyhow.  At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it  :D don't you agree.
