Actually Polly, learning to do the applique was fun and went well but it has been a struggle doing the fmq as I'm just a newbie at that. I spent about 40 minutes today trying to work through other problems I was having with my machine so when I finally got to the end of the fmq I was joyous, just joyous....until I turned it over! LOL!

Could you carefully cut around the stitching and then apply a fairly big label in the back to cover what remains?

Yep, I think tomorrow I'll just cut as much away as I can and maybe put a label there. Luckily it is a wall hanging for me  and has been a"learner introduction" project to applique. I've learnt heaps about my machines and the process with this and along the way have bounced from one dilemma to another  :S :toast:

Surely you can cut that away? cut as close to the stitching as possible and tease the rest out.

0_0 0_0 0_0.  Oh dear.  As @Iminei said I’m sure you’d be able to cut most of that out.  A pair of tweezers, haemostats and a soft brush will deal with the rest.  But ain’t it annoying!
