For a simple man, sewing!

My job takes me all over the fairly big factory where I work, and wherever I go, my tools have to go with me.
Well I finally got fed up of rummaging in the bottom of the toolbox for the right size spanner, and decided a little organization was called for.

This heavy-duty canvas is the remains of an old welding screen. It's old, frayed and a bit manky.
So I know just how it feels...

Something like this? Precision guesswork at it's finest.

Strong thread, a Jeans needle in the machine, and away we go.

No more swearing and chucking stuff about because I can't find the right tool.

Very nice! Are you organised enough to put each one back in it's place as soon as you've finished with it?

A neat and practical solution to the problem of tool storage, a good idea well-executed.

Perfect. I made something similar for knitting needles.

Like most people in my trade, I buy my own hand tools. Those spanners have cost me money.

They're going back in the damn roll. Every time.

I love how it looks as if you have been using it for ages already. I also like the phrase "precision guesswork" as that sums up quite a lot of my sewing.

Perfect for the.job.

An idea that could be easily done again for other tool I would think. Or done for things like cosmetics.
There's no workman, whatsoever he be, That may both work well and hastily

Nice work @Mick. I like the reuse of fabric. I smile at the reuse of the dirt on the fabric :D

Excellent use of pre-used fabric, @Mick   I love that sort of organisation - pity I don't practise it more often.

And 'precision guesswork' is definitely being added to my vocabulary  :D

This is what I like about having the ability to sew.  If you think of something you'd find useful but it either doesn't exist in the marketplace or is ridiculously expensive you can make it instead.

Before you know it, you will be moving on to zipper pouches to hold that ever growing set of Allen keys. Then double zipper, then triple zipper...
Singer 538, there are many like it, but this one is mine.
