@renita, your first entry doesn’t fulfil the requirement of the fabric being an animal print. I’m afraid it doesn’t qualify for this contest.

I decided to go shopping for something animal print in my current colour theme (black/grey/red) and found this lovely rayon/viscose (Monday Market Man at Chesterfield market).

Whilst the colour way is obviously not natural, the print is very leopard/cheetah esque I feel.
Would this one be admissible @Manuela?

@Manuela - I'm happy to be disqualified  :D

I'm ever so much happier you told me AFTER I finished it- I'd still be struggling with my old ironing board cover if I'd read the rules correctly and realised a leaf print doesn't qualify.

That fits the brief beautifully and I am quite envious. It’s hard to find animal prints in cool colours and I look dreadful in warm ones.

Yay thanks Manuela, I have picked a fairly simple but new to me Prima top pattern to use with it as its a woven, not a knit!
(I have got some animal prints in stash but they were all more in the creamy/browny zone and not quite what I wanted for this year, where I've already picked a colour palette).
If I hadn't found this I was going with a backup combo of pandas and zebra, probably in PJ pants. Two separate fabrics but both in black/white.

@renita, I think the leaf prints are lovely, and if allowed would have made my entering a lot easier as I have more leaves than animals in my stash.

I do find these contests a lot of fun as it just pushes me a little farther to try something slightly different. Thank you

I'm more of a leaf print person than an animal print person @SewRuthieSews.  Your fabric looks terrific and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks @UttaRetch.  And thanks for coming up with a name for it - I was struggling to think what it's called and, of course, cover-up is perfect.

@BajaSusana I love your long vest - very elegant and stylish.  You've done a great job with the rolled hem finish - I agree, much nicer looking than the rolled hem from the overlocker - that has its place but not for your lovely garment.

Have finally found time to cut out my fabric and there is still enough of January to finish it off!

I'm working on mine. Of course I had to do some changes. Made my own piping and added a magnetic snap to the front  pocket as I wanted a bigger pocket in the front (3 sections vs 4 that is on the back).

Hope to have it done by Monday. Other than the inside pocket and figuring out the corners to box the bottom, it should be easy. Famous last words.  :meow:

Lots of articles online about Dolphins that have been discovered/found in the jungle.

I'm very relieved to see that they're in rivers!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

The fabric I have is this
https://poundfabrics.co.uk/collections/fleece/products/dolphins-cuddle-fleece-fabric.  It's polar fleece not cuddle fleece and yesterday I started to make New Look 6142.

On another thread a couple of days ago someone mentioned that a unisex pattrn came out big; this one does too, especially on the width of the shoulders.

I didn't have enough fabric to pattern match the pockets - and with such a big print they really would have to be matched, so I'm omitting them.  Can't do any more until the package from Minerva with the open ended zip arrives.
