First quilt started for 2020

My Jabiru is hanging gloriously in the hallway commanding admiring glances and self satisfied smirks from me at least 6 times a day so now it is time to embark on the first of my year 2020 projects with a firm and steely determination to use all my already purchased fabrics that are languishing in tubs secreted about the sewing room. So with that in mind I have hauled out an embarassingly chunky pile of white, off white and cream pieces....some plain, some patterned, some textured, and I am going to make a "white on white on cream" quilt. Oh yes, it's going to be incredibly neutral, incredibly WTF, and some may even say, incredibly bland LOL. And what's even more bizarre is I am going to use a pattern out of the flourescent, colorfilled, visually chaotic New York Beauties pattern book I bought some time back...you know, the one where I did the "Sewing with Sunglasses" block.....which did end up in the bin and no doubt is now languishing at the recycling tip wondering why it never got to be a "grown up quilt".   Pics to follow once I finish cutting out all my gazillion pieces and start sewing something together!  Happy New Year everyone from here across the sea.  :)

Ooh, sounds interesting, @rubywishes .  Look forward to seeing it.  (My iPad suggests I add tomorrow to that sentence.  No pressure.   :D)

@rubywishes - I am not a dark side person but always enjoy seeing the fruits of all the darksider's labours. One of my interests, however, is making cushions from oddments of vintage and antique fabrics. I don't like to waste any of the fabric so I once made a completely white cushion cover in patchwork squares using different textures and white on white patterned fabrics. I then sewed a small vintage mother of pearl button (all different) in the middle of each square. I do find patchwork quite a chore but I was very pleased with the result. I look forward to seeing your, much more ambitious, project.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, although I am a bright colour girl and I am not sure it will be my cup of tea. Having said that, iI look forward to seeing your progress

@Iminei - if I still have it (and it's a big "if"), it will be in a bag in the loft. You shall have to visit me and I'll get the bags down and you can help me find it! I'm not sure it would photograph very well though, the effect is very subtle. It pleased me no end but I'm not sure anyone else would be impressed!

A little update on my quilt which I have named  "Look Again" as you have to look quite closely to see all the detail in the different patterns on my fabrics. I have completed the first block, very happy with it and am well into the second block. Each block consists of wedges and flying geese fpp in different combinations/layouts so there is something new to look forward to in each block. I've had quite a giggle taking the photos of it as it is impossible with my phone camera to get any real detail to show but trust me.....the fabrics are a lot prettier and different to each other than what the photos show LOL!

@Acorn  @Lisalou1965    Nah, flying geese are easy peasy when you do it with fpp....it's like painting by numbers. I'm such a clutz at accuracy that I just love fpp....does all the accuracy for you!
