In no particular order:

Fit for Purpose – Absolutely anything to do with keeping fit / sport / staying active… clothes, bags, accessories.
Manual Labour – Handstitching only. No machines.
Off the Cuff – Shirts and blouses: newly made, alterations, or upcycled.
First things First – Your very first attempt at making something you've never made before.
Just in Case – A case for your phone, tablet, or laptop computer.

Alterations?  Ready made garment for self or others, with fitting issues.  Before and after pictures obviously.  Could be helpful for others.
Might be better for sew-alongs.
'Shoulder to shoulder',  'Waist not want not',  'The long and the short of it',  'Fit to bust (or Treasure chest)',  'Saggy bottom knocker' ( I think that was once a real job) etc.

I like all the ideas but I’d like as many of the competitions to be as inclusive as possible. For example, if the theme is florals this can be anything using floral fabric - not just clothes. People could sew clothes, but could also enter quilts (for the dark siders), house accessories, bags etc.

I like @StitchinTime 's idea of focusing it around a feature as well - some people avoid zips for example but it may encourage them to have a go
