@fourkid, UFO = UnFinished Object, it doesn’t matter whether is was started 4 weeks ago or 10 years....

You are all so kind - I am new on here and didn't want to break any "rules". I have had a year-ish slump in sewing and have determined I need to sew for my peace of mind - and to have something to wear!  ;) My UFO pile(s) stress me to look at them - so that is another place I am committing to finish or toss (depends on how it goes and if I even like it.) I plan to post lots of UFO's - hopefully at least one a week (le sigh - yes, I have that many) though some may take a couple weeks to complete. I am going to add to my list now - then get cracking.   >:)

I have cut out the rest of the pieces for my dressing gown, so it looks as though I'm on my way to deal with at least one UFO!

This is the fabric (brushed cotton):

... with a white brushed cotton neckband and cuffs.

The pattern is Butterick 6837:

As some of you will know, I hate tissue patterns with a vengeance, which partly explains why this is a UFO.  Well, I've cut it all out, and I hate tissue patterns just as much as ever.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

That fabric is lovely.  I started looking for brushed cotton to use in my dressing gown project.  Where did you get yours?

Just found the fabric on Midland textiles, but it is sold out.  I note, however, that the fabric is only 111cm wide.

It is narrow - I seem to remember that I had to order more when I received it because I hadn't realised it was so narrow.  I think I got it from Calico Laine, but it was about a year ago, and I couldn't swear to it.  They don't have it now.

I have spotted this

again from Midland textiles and also out of stock.  Black and roses, what's not to like.  :D

That is gorgeous.  I don't know Midland Textile, so I'm off to have a look.

ince we're back to January, I took the opportunity to finish my UFO that was supposed to be finished by the end of the month, LAST January...

This is my little hand-pieced and hand-quilted (and definitely machine-sewn together so it doesn't fall apart the first time I sit on it) meditation cushion, which I started for the Home-Decorating competition last year.

I won't add too much detail here, since it had its own little thread.  More details & pics here:

I have a billion (give or take) other unfinished projects, but not many of them are sewing ones at the moment.  I'll see if I can dig up any others...

Dunnit!  The dressing gown I started pretty much a year ago is finished.  I delayed because I wanted to embroider on the white collar but couldn't find a pattern that looked right - I'm actually quite glad I didn't now, because I don't think any embroidery would have looked right.

The pattern (Butterick 6837) was a nightmare.  The instructions were very confusing (I usually use Style Arc - less is definitely more!) in relation to the collar at the back.  When I first sewed the sleeve/shoulder seam the seams came down almost to my elbow - and they are set in sleeves.  I had to recut both the armscye and the sleeves, but I got there in the end.  After that I pretty much made it my own way.   I think unisex patterns are probably a very bad idea - although a man with shoulders wide enough for this pattern would have been terrifying!

Anyway, here it is on Jemima.  The brushed cotton clung terribly to her skin, so it isn't hanging brilliantly, and it actually looks better on me, but I am useless at taking selfies.

I am actually very pleased with it now!

Very nice - worth persevering with. I agree it definitely doesn't need embroidery. Another case of less is more!

Really lovely robe @Acorn - I second (third?) the decision to keep the collar plain - it looks terrific as-is.
