2 braids now made

Now my problem - I've run out of ideas - I think it needs some sort of braid/herringbone pattern between the 2

each braid is 17" x 57" - untrimmed

Please could you give me some suggestions
I don't seem to have a vision for the completed look!

My stitch ripper has been my friend this afternoon!

I decided to do a straight herringbone for the centre panel. Reached so far, just under half way and decided I didn't like it!

Unpicked some of the strips, had a play, decided to follow a similar pattern to the side panels but without the little 'cornerstones' and muddling up the fabric strips.
It is done, too dark for a photo.
Before I start to trim and sash I will give it all a lot more thought and hope i don't screw it all up!

It is interesting though, working out a pattern as you go along, with just a few ideas

Well done. I couldn't do that. I have to follow a pattern exactly, step by step with no deviation. I'm not creative, but you certainly are  :)

Oh no @Bjay what a pain, presumably not a sewing related injury.
Life's too short for ironing.

That would be drastic!  Dog walking related. I expect she'll be along sometime to say a bit more.
Dogs are such a help when dressmaking!

Thank you for the sympathy.
I live near Malvern Hills and decided to take dog for a good run between bad weather days. walked so far, slipped in mud
it took ambulance and fire brigade (very nice!! ;) and 1 1/2 hours to carry me off hills to ambulance.
Air ambulance was attending to some one else on Hills with similar accident

I am plastered (purple) and have an unstable fracture. Have to keep leg up and basically can't walk
I can look at sewing machine but not much else.
Already been to hospital twice and back to consultant next week to see what they are going to do,

(bleeping painful!!!!!)

Well finally am getting sewing brain working.
Leg still not working but I can mange small things (the braid quilt will have to wait)

Here is a Tooth Fairy pillow I made for my Great Niece - finshed it yesterday.
Made of left over squares form GD's quilt, bits of batting, and an M&S pyjama wrapping tape that came with velcro - saved and used for the hanger
