Crib coverlet

Hi,

Just putting this photo in as a sort of trial run. This is, however, what I was working on today. A little light weight cotton cover for a swinging crib. Nowadays babies just need very light covers : no blankets or quilts , so made this using all cotton fabric. Don't know whether it's for a boy or girl, so a little teddy on a lemon coloured moon works.

Lovely stuff Sheilago and how nice to see you here!

What size have you made it and is it for a moses basket or cot?

I always get confused as to sizes of quilts...
I'm (should be) making the pink thing for a single bed but am concerned its getting too big!
I think its coming out at about 81 x 61 inches  at the mo.... (oops smilie)

That's beautiful Sheila.  I think I'll be called upon to re-furbish DD's swinging crib shortly.  :)   Hope I manage something half as nice!

Hi, it's for a swinging crib, so it's just 60 cm x 70 cm. very quick to make as it was only the applique that was much work. Had to buy so much waffle fabric, I could make another 6 more!

That's really cute - you could make some bibs or dribble cloths from the leftover bits, couldn'you?

Thanks for all the comments. The little cover is intended for my expected grandchild, but a friend has already asked if I could maybe make one for her to give as a gift to another baby. Bibs and burp cloths are certainly a possibility too.

It's so pretty Sheila. I'm also making a baby quilt at the moment. If I ever work out how to post a picture, I'll do it once it's finished. xx

If, after reading the tech help on posting pics, you are still stumped, you could always send the pic to one of the admin team (C3PO, Francesca or myself) or my FB (imineijones) to post on your behalf!

Looking forward to seeing it!
