Look forward to seeing it, Supergran. Is it for a new grandchild?

Lovely quilt Seilago, so nice to get away from the inevitable pink/blue variations.

No, Sheila, it's for a girl I've known since she was a little tot herself. Lovely girl, and the baby is gorgeous, so I had to do it, didn't I? She won't get it until around June though when one of my neighbours is going back to UK, as it costs a fortune to post from here.

I'm on a similar mission here only with cot bedding, I'm making fitted sheets and a coverlet/duvet.
I'm confused by what weight of cotton to go for, it seems that 250g cotton is p&q weight cotton, yet 150g cotton is also available (but to me looks a bit transparent when pictured on the roll). What did you use here for this project, what would you (or anyone) advise?
I'd like to think I was inspired, but maybe sewing is just hard wired

I actually bought bought a white cotton sheet,180 thread count,on EBay as it was cheaper than buying fabric, then bought a metre of cotton waffle and used Hobbs Heirloom wadding. Lemon binding is cotton seersucker.
I had 100% cotton white fabric in my stash, but it felt too stiff for the purpose, so that's why a sheet seemed a good idea, except I now have lots of fabric left!
