I was cross with myself for beheading a robin right at the neckline and when wearing a cardigan it is blindingly obvious as you can't see most of the other birds.  Fortunately there were a couple on the leftover fabric facing the right way so I cut out the top of a head and appliqued it onto the neckband.  I think it's worked ok.

That is amazing Plosh!  What a fabulous rescue!

The robin looks far healthier with a head!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

That's brilliant!   0_0
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

I have now ordered that pattern. My first foray into t-shirt making will not involve living things  ;) Unless you count the overlocker, which is the spawn of the devil and gave me serious grief yesterday for ignoring it for months  :S

A tip @FloBear with that pattern I ignore the pattern piece for the neck band.  I measure the neckline and cut a strip 2" wide and 80% of the neckline plus seam allowances for joining.
What's up with your overlocker - it doesn't seem to behave very well.

Thanks for the tip @Ploshkin. I'll get the calculator out  ;)
My overlocker's OK really, it's the operator that causes most problems by a) making small errors, usually in threading and b) lack of practice. It's not like  an ordinary machine where you can just sit down and sew!

@Ploshkin  I was too polite to say it but I couldn't have lived with the be-headed robin so I'm very pleased you were able to rescue him. It's a really lovely top now
