It is Finished!

Fabulous workshop with Jan Hassard on the 8th April has become The Spiral Child, a rather lovely lap quilt measuring approximately 47 x 54" just right to snuggle under methinks!

Its was a really simple block that was quick to put together, I have ambitions for a black and white modernist one in the pipeline!

I'm in AWE

The patience required for these things is immense...how can you think clothes are harder?

'Cos they are dear DF......

Wish we lived closer, I could teach you to quilt, and you could teach me to sew...

alternatively

I would make you fantabulous quilts and you could make me some clothes!

That is beautiful, Iminei, but dizzying. I just couldn't concentrate on something that intricate.  At least with clothes making the pieces are relatively large.

I love it  <3

Do all your squares start out the same size, with 2 squares sewn faces together, then quartered, the other squares just quartered? IYSWIM!

It would make a lovely bag.

That's really gorgeous Im ... I can't believe how quickly you got it done. I can see it's an easy block but all the same your work rate is impressive! I love the colours  <3

Spot on choice of fabrics.  Love it.
How have you quilted it?
Life's too short for ironing.

How have you quilted it

With lots and lots of stops and starts.
WF all the way ... with straight lines,
3 variegated lines of thread through each coloured diamond

Love it Iminei. Gorgeous blend of colours. I'm just imagining sewing all the ends in after the quilting!  :o

That is really beautiful.  I love the way the colours work together.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.
