Ploshkin, thank you for the tip - you're right of course I just get a bit lazy about the counting :)

I didn't used to wear shawls, but they're easy to layer up over pretty much anything when the hot flushes mean you're hot one minute, cold the next. So I make the big enough to wrap, and sturdy enough to deal with being dragged about the place and dropped on the floor often.

Previously I made this one:https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nocturne-shawl
in a Malabrigo yarn that I hadn't liked as a cardigan. If you're worried about shape or fit I find shawls so forgiving.

Thank you for the link correction fajita  :)

Shawl is finished now, although I haven't got to the blocking yet. Will need floor mats I think, and some warmer weather.

Using this sunny day at home to block the shawl. Needs must, so it's on the rubbery mats from underneath my exercise bike (I don't have  carpet big enough, lots of hard floors) and using my lace pins, made of brass so no rusting. The white ruler is over a yard, to give an idea of size.

I'm happy with how it turned out :)

Gorgeous @LeilaMay . You are obviously an expert knitter.  Love the colours too. I must look at those yarn makers on Etsy. I’d love to have the patience to do a shawl like yours, but I’ve only knitted one shawl ( for my baby granddaughter).   It was the most complicated thing I’ve ever done and I did think once was enough. I might find something simpler to knit with the yarn.

Beautiful beautiful work. The effort needed to produce that lace is mind boggling.

Well done.

That is beautiful @LeilaMay .  I do like a shawl as they are multi-functional; you can wear them as a shawl (obvs) and also as a scarf.  I love a nice huge scarf that doubles up.  Colour is fab on this too.
