New machine - Grrr!

Everytime I aquire a 'new' machine there inevitably turns out to be a fault with it that doesnt meet my standards. The result is that the 'new' machine ends up in pieces spread across my workshop bench. My NV1250 embroidery machine was the latest to succomb. It is now stitching beautifully such that my dear wife increased the stitch count by 400000 in a fortnight. As we are both approaching OAP status later this year we decided to treat ourselves. Hence the arrival of an XE1 Stellaire. My good lady excelled herself and put an equal 400000 stitches on it in just a week. Unfortunately, my record still stands, although I wasn't allowed to get my toolbox out. The machine is now winging it's way back to SMD for rectification. Not something we've done, from day 1 it has not been able to wind a bobbin. Just proves that Brothers quality control is not infallible.

Perhaps one of these days I'll have better luck?

At least you bought it from a reputable supplier, so should get sorted easily.

That remains to be seen @Ellabella. They asked me to send them a video of the problem, which I did. They immediately said they had arranged a courier to collect it so all the packaging came back out of the loft. The courier did not arrived as they had given him the wrong address.
They soon sorted that though and collection was arranged for the next day (today). It is now on its way back to SMD for them to decide whether to repair or replace.
I'm getting withdrawal symptoms already!

A quick update here. My old NV1250 is off to a new life stitching wedding embroidery and our new Stellaire is back from it's trip to the vets.. My good lady has been merrily stitching away and now under lock down it rarely gets chance to cool. In order that she can share her designs now that we don't get visitors I have set up a website for her, which I thought I would also share with you good people.
The address is www.wychallembroidery.com
Hopefully it may cheer people up in these dark times.

Oooh, a Stellaire, I've got a V3 and thought that was expensive enough - I'm only slightly envious...  :P
