Lap quilt for a young friend

Hi Ladies! I have been a bit quiet recently but not entirely idle. This is a belated Christmas gift for a young friend of my son’s. The blocks are finished and I am just trying to decide the position of the blocks. The fabric underneath is the one I am going to use for the sashing.

To me it looks good the way you have the blocks arranged.  It can be incredibly difficult to make things like this look random even though they are not.

Looks good to me too. I think the layout is perfect. Lovely bright colours- I’m sure it’ll look gorgeous when it’s finished.

The recipient is 19 and about to start college, hence the bright colours, a bit like her, a lovely lass, a bright sunny  disposition. She is my son's "not girlfriend" which loosely translates into "joined at the hip, but not officially a couple, cos that is NOT cool" I am very fond of her, I just hope they continue to be a "not item" for a good long while  :P

All quilted, following the lovely @Iminei ‘s suggestions

All it needs now is binding and label. I haven’t used the embroidery module for an age. It may be fun trying to remember how to use it!
