I decided to make the Kimono style jacket but didn't want to cut into good fabric.  I used some 'orrible sort of fabric just to test the pattern.  I just have to hem the sleeves and bottom.  But can't decide what to do the proper one with.  I have a few summery fabrics, albeit a bit 'girly' but would like to use a lightweight denim.  Anyhow this is the, almost finished jacket.

The finished jacket    I am not keen on the pattern or colour of the fabric but it will do for the garden or when I am bird-watching.  It may blend in with the woodlands.

I will make it again with a more suitable fabric.

Ignore the undergarments on the mannequin

Too good for the garden. It's a shame you don't like the fabric too much, as it's appropriate for a kimono, I think it looks very Japanese.

You've matched the stripes well at the front, it would have been easy to have missed that (I probably would have...).  I like the kimono sleeve, but I'm not a fan of curved hems.  There's a lot of them about at present though.
You're right, it's a good, drapey fabric.  Is that a little fabric flower pin I see on the lapel?

Thank you, I did make a point of matching throughout. It would drive me crazy if not.

Yes I just stitched a length and gathered it up  .  I will make a proper one though.
