@Kittensposies lace isn't as difficult as you think. You just need to outsmart it and compensate for the open bits. Wash away stabilizer is very useful with lace.  ;)

And take your time. Lace doesn't like to be rushed.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

@Kittensposies, what Renegade Sewist said. I’d add that lace also needs careful planning, the more open it is, the more you have to think about seam finishes, etc. Here I have decided to finish the shoulders, pocket bags and side seams as French seams. Had my lining fabric be less thick, I would have done Hong Kong finishes.
When you underline lace, it’s a different story alltogether.

The pink dress is done and I’m happy with it.

I used a slightly wider binding (1/2”) than I normally would and like how it looks with the lace

Excellent.  The binding is so neat.  Where did you put the zip?

No zip, it fits just over my head - I measured it very carefully

The continuity of the pattern either side of the seam pocket is wonderful.  Love it.

That looks amazing! I would definitely wear that to work with a pair of gladiator sandals.

Waiting for this navy lace to arrive for another rendition. This time probably with collar, in denim perhaps.

I am also waiting for McCall’s 7948 to make in in broderie anglaise...

I have a real fondness for denim and lace together!  Should be lovely.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Would love to be able to get some lovely lace like that at a reasonable price.  So expensive here even if you can get it.

I think your navy dress is going to be even better that the pink one, although that is really stunning, but I do love navy! Look forward to seeing it.
