There's an awful lot of frills going on...

Nothing I'm interested in.  :\

Most are too frilly and girly for me, though I might have another look at the shirt dress/tunic and the cargo pants.

I like frills, but since I look like a fat Malevolent, it does not work for me at all.

I don't do frills or flounces so I'm out.
Life's too short for ironing.

Is anyone else thinking 'been there done that in the 70's'?   I tend to think frills don’t look good when you’re older but maybe that’s just me!

@Ohsewsimple I think some people can get away with them like these patterns, age or not, but generally there aren't a lot of "cute" older women.  Sally Field probably could wear these and it look okay, and she's my Mom's age.  Ellie Kemper (Kimmie Schmidt) is nearly 40 and ruffles fit her fine, but I think there is a personality type for them.

I never have done the frills well, even when I was young.  I'm busty, hippy and an hourglass and they all just made me look weirdly disproportionate, plus the fact it's not a joke I have God level resting bitch face.  None of these patterns would have worked for me past the age of 12.  Now, I think they can be done, but lot of things need to be considered to pull them off, regardless of age.

@Kwaaked I’m guessing short and wide doesn’t work 0_0 0_0 0_0

I think that the pattern @Manuela is making tones down the frills and makes them much more accessible to people who aren't young and slender.  Interestingly it is McCalls, but not the new batch, so I guess they're developing a theme!

I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

@Acorn, yep, that’s the one. I will do the tiered version in cotton eyelet, but the longer tier at the too to provide space for pocketses. Ni sleeves and sleeve ruffles for me though.

Re-reading my post, I just want to point out that I'm not suggesting that @Manuela isn't young and slender!  She certainly looks youthful and slender to me!

Even the logo has gone frilly!

I quite like frills but not overly inspired by any of these except maybe 8096, but I wouldn't know where to start with finding the fabric for that!

Frills to me usually means something added to embellish a plainer item. I don't dislike some patterns featuring gathers but much depends on where the gathers lie,. Frilly necklines and collars? not a good look on well endowed ladies.  The pattern @Manuela is using is quite appealing to make, not necessarily for me to wear, my age and stature don't really lend themselves to frills and furbelows.
