Aprils BOM - A Gaggle of Geese

Now you've all been very good playing with strips over the last two months
and Im sure you will have seen that your accuracy in cutting and sewing
those strips together has improved so this month we are going to have a lil fun ... with wildlife!

Here we are at the THIRD BOM of the 2020!

There will be Twelve 12" blocks for this years BOM:
Some months you will have two blocks to make and some only one.

In October I will guide you through layering and quilting your blocks
and in November I will take you through  assembling them, using a QAYG method,
into a fabulous lap or cot sized quilt (or even a series of comfy cushions.)

And everyone who finishes the year with a completed quilt (or full series of cushions)
will receive an exclusive The Sewing Place Prize Winners Badge

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I have chosen a monochrome theme with pops of colour for my quilt,
you may choose whatever colourway/theme you like ...
Brights, plains, patterns, pastels, neutrals ... the choice is yours!

Aprils BOM

As ever when you click on the link, select the first picture,
and click on the i icon to bring up the destructions
on the right side of your screen.

Do read through The Basic Basics Thread before you start.

Please post pics of your blocks each month and at the end of the year I will compose an album for the archives

I think this is a foolproof method of making these, so dispel any worries some of you might have and ENJOY!

OOoooo I've never made geese! What to choose for my background though... Feb and Mar didn't have one so I'm going to go a little of piste. If it's a sight it can become a cushion! I'm using 'spare room' fabrics so it'll go with my quilts in there whatever it looks like.
I'm thinking YELLOW!  :S

I would like to remind peeps that many Sewing Emporia are still doing Mail order!

My fave for service and range has to be Midsomer Quilting which rescued me last week by sending out a package of background fabric for the mystery quilt ...

Dee and Nik are in every morning sending essential supplies to quilters around the country so if you know what you need (or even if you dont, you can always email them a pic or send them a swatch) do give them a call or drop them a line ... They are sooo helpful!

I think we can assume it won't be me.  I have to start again at the beginning (of the BOMs), and my fabric hasn't arrived yet.   :(
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Oh my!
Several times I have looked at flying geese and then thought 'nope'
Guess I'll have to  bite the bullet this time
I will be sticking to the yellow theme and now I have background fabric that will be green.

It may take some time!

The way Imi explains it is really good @Bjay Mind you, I was lucky enough to be in the presence of the Darkling Queen when I had a little go.

Oooh that is nice but I don't think I will be doing as I have loads of sewing on the go. Keep up the good work @Iminei.
