Well have finished my 16 flying geese - untrimmed.
In danger of running out of thread, methinks it calls for an online shop of other things as well

Learnt a new skill - chain piecing - that saves a lot of time, quite like the idea
Thanks Imminei

I'm having to shop for background fabric, I know what I'd like but it's almost impossible to find and of course it doesn't look the same on a screen. May have to go for boring cream  :o

I am in the same boat @Flobear I ordered some fabric but seeing for real it doesn't look the same.  I have some fabric already that would work but it's not really what I want. :(  I am debating whether to try one block to see how it goes, maybe tomorrow.  :)

I've finished April's BOM. It's a nice block but I managed to make a real hash of it. :S
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I left two layers of background fabric on the geese but it's now too thick for the seams to sit really flat, and as I was trying to match the triangle points the sewing machine needle kept moving away from where I wanted it to be.

Never mind, it's done now and is roughly the right size (with a little judicious trimming). :)

They are all lovely, ladies. I am still working on my lone star. When I get that finished I will be back here to do the BOM
If you see me with a seam ripper, now is not a good time

@Sheilago - it looks better in the photo than in "real life". :)

@Sheilago - it looks better in the photo than in "real life".

How do you do that then @Kenora ???
Blocks often look better in real life than in pics but rarely if ever the other way around!

If your geese are perfect, ie no wonky edges, than you are free to trim the bottom layers away completely reducing the bulk ... Leaving the rectangle beneath whole is just a tip for us mere mortals!

Beautiful block in gloriously pure colours ... your quilt is going to be stunning!

@Iminei  I'm finding it difficult to follow this month's instructions for what is needed. I got 36 x 2.5" squares in the background fabric, but the rest don't come up when I try to open them with my tablet.
I'm not getting all the pics or the instructions.
I know how to make fg but it's the amount of each shape and fabrics I need.
Don't worry if you can't write it out again I'll give this month's a miss.
Sorry to be a nuisance.
Triumph of hope over experience :D

One 4.5” square for centre

Four rectangles 4.5” x 2.5” in each of four colours (sixteen rectangles in all)

Make flying geese.  Sew them in pairs.  Arrange them around the centre square so that it looks like Imi’s, or in my case, the opposite way round!
