I had my eye on the Vogue pattern for quite a while, but with shipping charges skyrocketing, shipment taking weeks and the fitting issues I read on pattern review, I decided to not bother and use what I have - namely Tessuti’s Bella pattern, tried, tested and fitted.

The vogue pattern (View B)

The Tessuti pattern:

Changes to the Tessuti pattern:
- neck hole (smaller)
- applied the rule of thirds and added a party at the back
- spotted pink shoelaces in a cupboard and decided I need grommets and lacing at the front
The dress is lined with cotton voile.

There will be a black & white version (or two) in a positive/negative print

I notice the Tessuti pattern has no dart. Any issues with that?

None at all @mudcat, no gaping in the armhole or other issues that would require an FBA. I guess they have pivoted the necessary space for boobs to the hem. The shape of the pattern pieces would suggest that. I’m speaking for the Tessuti pattern, looking at PR I can see some issues with the Vogue pattern.

Thanks Manuela.  I think I'll have to try that Tessuti pattern.

I usually have to go one size down with their patterns. I would actually be a size M, but size S fits me best.

Absolutely beautiful @Manuela ! I am a bit lazy about posting, but have seen a few of your dresses and they’re always so stylish and perfectly made.

After reading the reviews I have put mine on hold. I am afraid I am a bit of a lazy sewer and if I think something is going to be a faff to get right I won't bother. May use the Tessuti pattern though (downloaded a while since but yet to stick together.)
It's not easy being this perfekt

My second version in a print.... I still want one in the print that featured in the 1st episode of the current Great British Sewing Bee (the print with the faces)  ;)
