I've just had my first ever delivery from driessenstoffen ( thanks to whoever it was who introduced us to them  <3 ). Two
glorious lengths of jersey and I love the look of this pattern.

Just one question though: the pattern specifies the use of elastic as the shoulder stay, if I hadn't read the instructions, I would have used a narrow tape/ribbon as usual. Will it matter if I don't use elastic?

I never use elastic.  I always use a fine fusible interfacing to avoid bulk.  Whatever works for you.

I use something called Seams Great but otherwise a lightweight interfacing to stabilise the shoulder seams.

Thanks for your replies, I was just confused as it seems counter- intuitive to be told to  stabilise a seam with stretchy  stuff, which is also bulkier than anything we've suggested.
I'll do as I usually do and re-purpose the narrow ribbons from rtw clothing
