Vogue Summer 2020

They seem to be de-emphasing the Designer patterns.  Nothing here for me.  And the prices are ridiculous.

 :x  :x  :x *

*with apologies to anyone who loves any of this tripe. I did get a good laugh at a couple of them. The "cold elbow " jacket was a scream. Otherwise just too much fabric for summertime in an arid climate.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

Wow, they don't joke with their pricing do they? They are er, interesting. :o

The only one  I like is the black job with the slit and red lining. I could see that over leggings or pants as a great contemporary dance costume, but as that isn't likely to be a prime necessity, I reckon I'll pass.

Yea, they're too expensive. I like a couple of the dresses and tops, I like the hippy floaty look, and I think they look very summery. I've known for a very long time that I don't follow the crowd Don't dig the elbow cut-out jacket.

You'd have to be very young, or very pampered to want to showcase your elbows like that!!!

I like the dress with the pointy hem (V1694) but never at that price (and anyway, you know how I feel about tissue paper patterns...  ;) )
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

The 'cold elbow'   The long styles are quite pretty, but I'm not tall or slim enough to pull off the look.  However, I love the stripes of this

I like that skirt too, @UttaRetch, but it's not something I could or would wear. I might have done, thirty years ago! I like V1693 the romantically styled dress, but again for a younger age group. I can imagine wearing V1709 to a wedding perhaps or smart do (who am I kidding, even in normal times that doesn't happen!).

The prices are ridiculous.

That one with the elbow holes may look ok posed (not to me) but I imagine it would drive you mad to wear it.  Theres some weight in those ruffles and you'd be forever hitching up the ends of the sleeve.  It would be hard to get your arms into the sleeves too, you know what it's like when there's a hole in the knee of your jeans.
Life's too short for ironing.

I have cute elbows. Maybe I should rethink that cold elbow jacket.

Gawd I've been cooped up here for far too long.

Quite a few of them hark back to the kaftans of the 1970s, not really my favourite, and yes I agree far too much fabric for real summer, those are mid-season designs.  The first one V1693 might be nice for a special occasion, but otherwise nothing there that really appeals to me.

@Renegade Sewist, I think you are coming down with cabin fever.
@BrendaP, I could channel my inner 'Margot Leadbetter' with the long blue dress done in a suitabe retro fabric.  :)

Vogue's are the most expensive patterns even in the US, BUT regular discounting brings the price down.  I long ago moved to buying patterns only in the sales and even stopped doing that as I am no longer sewing.
