HELP??????

Im top stitching a border around this piece through multiple layers ...

thin backing, thin curtain interlining, thin linen type fabric and where the walking foot has to pass over the end of the hanging rod pocket which has been doubled back on itself so as not to be sewn down .... the stitches aren't taking.

Ive done this twice, upping the presser foot pressure on the 2nd turn round to no avail ... the needle isnt passing through the hanging rod pocket (2 layers of thin backing fabric) but the walking foot has to walk over it.

Can anyone help me with this ????????

Ok Ladies ... After lunch ... Yes Lunch, well 1/2 a sarnie and a glass of winewater I went back in ..

First thing I cleaned out the machine ... WOW so much fluff and seriously I really do clean regularly!!!

Unpicked the stitching and ... Tried again with the WF .... same problem.

Fished around and found my zipper foot (E), attached and tried starting from the top of the piece, it went lovely down past the left side (as you look at it) problem area but 1/4" seam ??? Nah!! I was all over the place!

Unpicked again and attached the Ateliers IDT foot; now I don't know why, maybe the foot is more solid either side of the needle but it worked like a dream so I quickly sewed three rounds and have called it good!

Thank you for your help and suggestions ... I have no idea if she will like or even want it (she seems to have lots of and the best of everything) but its done!
