Um... how do I sew it on?
I used Dani's stretch pattern for the tutu, and I have a nice piece of lace, with scalloped edge, which I am using as the plate. (Or I will have when it arrives through the post!) Presumably I will start by gathering the net into a circle of the appropriate circumference and then... um... sew it on?
I know it sounds really obvious. I say it out loud and, yeah, that all seems very simple. But... I guess I fold under the gathered edge and then hand stitch onto the sewing line of the first layer of net? Should I stitch into the lycra or into the net?
It is possible my tendency to overthink these things is not helpful...

You need to stitch it on to the top layer of net as close as you can to the lycra bodice. Don't sew it to the lycra as the stitches will snap as soon as the lycra is stretched. It's not an easy thing to sew on and I find a curved needle very useful.

Yes, that was my worry. So - on the net. Got it. My lace is on its way and should be with me tomorrow - so watch this space!
Thank you!

I wondered this aswell but have looked at my daughters and her friends tutus and yes they are stitched in with invisible thread onto the top layer of net.

And... finished!

Well done! Did the top skirt fight back or did it behave itself and sew on reasonably easily?

Looks fantastic! Well done you must be so proud xxx

It went on OK, actually. Couple of tweaks I might make next time, but in general it was not too tricky!
