[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]    [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]     [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]    I have a 550QE with walking feet and BSR, it is about 13 years old and has been lightly used with a total sewing time of 62 hours- mainly for the BSR.
It was serviced 2 months ago.
It comes with all it's original accessories and box

Slide on table and seam guide

Feet which came with the machine at purchase are:
#1 Reverse pattern foot
#3 Buttonhole foot with slide
#4 zipper foot
#5 blind stitch foot
#20 open embroidery foot
#37 patchwork foot
#42 BSR foot with 3 feet
#50 walking foot with 3 soles

The extra feet are:
#0 zz foot with slit in the front
#10 edge stitch foot
#12C cording foot (designed for 9mm machine but works a treat)
#61 rolled hem foot
#24 open toe FM embroidery foot
#29 quilting foot (wide plastic)
#43 couching foot
#83 circular embroidery attachment
I include if required the extra length knee lift for use with a Horn cabinet
Other things of note
The machine came with a zip up pouch for the accessories but I found this cumbersome and bought a little thing which fits on the back of the machine when not in use. (it only has one door because the engineer broke it when PAT testing.) My daughter has just moved back in with 8 years of stuff plus all her party entertainer things. I know the zip up pouch is somewhere but cannot find it at present but will post to buyer when I find it.)
There are a few damp marks on the inside of the carry bag, from when we had a damp problem from our chimney breast and the empty bag was stored there. It doesn’t smell or anything.
I would prefer collection and live near Southampton.t am travelling to Kent in a couple of weeks so could arrange a rendevous somewhere inbetween.
I would like £700 please

The Haberdashery / New Iron Advice Please
« on: May 15, 2023, 19:18:08 PM »
My current iron is not brilliant and also is filled with green algae due to me leaving it on the window sill  :sorry:

I sew mainly garments and bags and would appreciate thoughts on what would be a good route to go down.  I see steam generator irons, gravity fed irons as well as the usual steam irons and would like to know what is best for fusing interfacing and general pressing.

I look forward to views.

In the wardrobe / Sinclair Patterns Adele Top - petite/regular/tall
« on: March 25, 2020, 11:33:37 AM »
I am still recuperating from an operation and can only spend short amounts of time sewing; I had tried a trouser pattern but it needed too much tweeking.

Thinks to self, which pattern brand always fits straight out of the envelope (pdf printer), of course, for me that would be a Sinclair pattern in the petite size.  I am 5'1" tall and have made three other Sinclair patterns so I went for the Adele.

Sinclair Adele

I found my fabric in deep stash, it was a purchase from John Lewis many years ago which had been waiting for this moment.  The sleeve length was limited by the amount of fabric I had left after cutting the two bodice pieces out.  Having made the top I decided to make it shorter than designed so I could have had full lenght sleeves.

The trickiest bit was the second seam of the shoulder inserts which had to be accurately placed but after that it was a breeze.  The tutorial instruction is very thorough with lots of photographs with markings to show where to stitch.

I would thoroughly recommend this pattern and with thoughts of summer this could be lovely with the tie sleeve.

Sorry about the large picture, I don't know how to shrink it.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Your Favourite Suppliers / Looking for Merino knit fabric
« on: March 17, 2020, 10:59:28 AM »
After 7 years, my favourite teal colour 100% merino knit jumper has worn away at the elbows and is not fixable. I have not been able to find a replacement so have decided to make one but cannot find any fine merino knit in the Northern Hemishpere.  I am sure someone has mentioned a supplier in the passt, but I can't remember.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be overjoyed.

Patterns Discussion / When do Simplicity patterns go on sale?
« on: August 25, 2018, 19:55:01 PM »
I am making lounge pants for various members of the family as Christmas presents.  I have decided on Simplicity 8518 for the females and wonder how often Simplicity patterns go on sale.
