Happy Birthday lovely @Lilian  :VV:

Hoping you have great weather and a fabulous birthday with lots of scrummy treats.  :cake:

Morning,

Very red sky this morning so that’s ominous. Off to Parkrun shortly for my volunteering duties and it’s supposed to start raining by 9.30am and stay raining all day.  :(

I’ve made 3 pairs of pant/trousers that need hemming so I’ll hopefully get around to doing that later. Not sure if I’m going to hem them by hand or not.

Need to start moving the house over to winter setting. So, moving plants in my sunroom and re-organising various rooms. Sounds more glamorous than it is. I have a display of tall plants plus plants on stands surrounding the wood burner during the Spring/Summer so they need new homes in the house over winter. Some hardier plants might be moved to the Polytunnel. I bought a pretty pink poinsettia yesterday so I’ll find a nice pot for it and a home.

Better get a shufty on.

Have a good day wherever you are and hope those with snotty colds feel better soon. x

Great thread!

I’m hoping to piece some of my knit fabric waste and make them into a Beanie style hat. I’ve seen a picture on Pinterest but haven’t worked out how to make it yet. Might try that next week.

Morning all,

Rain here too and very dark grey skies.

Used the pressure cooker yesterday as it had dried out sufficiently and it worked fine. Phew! (See Rant thread…)

Sewing group later and hoping to use a table to cut out my fabric to save me cutting out on the floor at home.

Otherwise, not much happening. Need to get DH to ring the consultants secretary to ask about the booster jab.

@Diane  That sounds scary and awful. Glad you’re feeling better now.

Take care everyone and hope you have a good day, wherever you are. x

Grey morning here!

B (12 yrs) has a cold and a hoarse voice so I’ll have to keep him off school as per instructions. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t keep him off with a mild cold but we’re supposed to now although plenty of other kids are being sent to school unwell, apparently even when other family members have tested positive for Covid!!  Thankfully, he doesn’t feel too bad so he can still do schoolwork and potter around at home.

Might take him shopping with us later otherwise Ian will be stuck at home too. B always stays in the car playing on his phone when we go shopping so nothing new there and we’re all still wearing face masks in shops. I don’t like leaving him home on his own just yet as there’s no-one living within about a mile of us if anything were to happen and he needed help and the shops are about 6 miles away.

@Silver Rose  Hope you can go home, if you’re feeling up to it. x

Take care everyone.

Not to get into anything political, but on this side of the pond there is an issue with women over a "certain age" and of a particular skin tone that have had a moniker assigned to them beginning with the letter "k".

I suppose the make equivalent is Dick.

Morning all!

@Silver Rose take it easy and lots of  :grouphug: from everyone here.

It was a red sky this morning but it’s brightening up nicely now and isn’t supposed to rain until the afternoon. Off to volunteer my services at Parkrun this morning. I haven’t actually run the course in ages so I’ll need to build myself up to doing it again but in the meantime, I can help do my bit by doing timekeeping duties.

Later DH has B’s friend for guitar lesson and then he stays for a long play date with B and I cook them dinner.

My lovely jersey fabric arrived from Dreissenstoffen yesterday so I might get time later to adjust and cut out a pattern. So excited.

Have a great day wherever you are. x

Morning all,

It’s misty here this morning but I think it will be sunny shortly.

Had a good day yesterday with homework club and the boys (B + 2 friends) had lots of fun toasting marshmallows around a campfire until it got very dark.

Might go to Bantry this morning for a wander, as it’s market day there.

@Pearl  Strangely enough I messaged the manager of the local community centre last night to ask about our sewing group applying for funding to pay for a teacher to teach some sewing workshops on reducing waste. One of the sessions I suggested was how to make a pattern from an existing garment. The other two were repairing damaged clothes (zips/holes) and recycling old charity shop bargains/old clothes into new clothes and accessories.

@Sandra and @b15erk  Hope your poorly relatives don’t get too ill and fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Have a good day wherever you are! x
