Your Favourite Suppliers / Another one closing down for mail order
« on: October 09, 2022, 14:04:20 PM »
Just been studying form on the future and looked at a jacket I've had for a bit, so went on the website, Sew Wardrobe to check the lining drawings, didn't notice for a start, but there was a notice on the top

It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell you that Sew Wardrobe is closing down.
The website is now closed for mail orders but the shop will remain open with limited stock.

Machine Accessories / Hobbycraft three tier storage trolley
« on: June 17, 2022, 16:23:44 PM »
I must admit I am well impressed with this.  I got it out this afternoon with the intention of putting together.  I sat myself down on the floor on a small folding stool and used my feet to hold to the two legs in place while I screwed together and put the trays in place.  It was an absolute doddle to do and even better to fill up.

I've got rid of all the bits and pieces behind the machine, extra bobbin cases, machine oil, tool rack, box of marking chalks, sharps box etc.  I even got to store a pack of A4 printer paper on the bottom.

All I need to do now is get rid of the massive box it came in.  I suspect when I get the Horn table out to put together it will be a doddle as well   I wish.

The Haberdashery / A little thing that will prove useful
« on: May 28, 2022, 10:27:57 AM »
I saw this a few weeks ago advertised but passed it off as not being that useful.  Until I took the Perpex table away from my machine and found all manner of things that had gone missing and got hidden, especially pencils and biros, my tweezers that went missing a couple of months etc. So I've bought one and without too much effort I've filled it up.

This was the cheapest one even with delivery added.

Sewing Machines / the Perfect Blind Hem
« on: April 25, 2022, 10:46:25 AM »
During my current alterations I've had to takea few hems out  first to get to the bottom of the seam.  Last week I did one that was not hand done, so the skirt was around 2008/9 - fabulous wool mix that I got from Favourite Fabrics.

At first I couldn't remember how I'd done  it then  did remember.  It was with my old Newhome/Janome MC7000.  It was the thing I missed the most because the Pfaff's blind hemming foot is rubbish so I've done by hand since.  I even bought a cheap Janome for the stitch and discovered it was a different foot so sold it on.

This time I went to investigate exactly which machine had my perfect hemming foot on.

These are the machines:

Sewing Spaces and Furniture / Too Much?
« on: April 10, 2022, 14:10:41 PM »
What intrigued me about this at first was the tv, never seen one like this one.  The lady was looking for a table to put a new overlocker on, which had me thinking.  Can you have too much space?  Same with enormous kitchens; that defy the rules on too much walking between fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave etc.

Machine Accessories / Pfaff Creative Spool Stand
« on: February 19, 2022, 13:39:55 PM »
I've used this on my old Expression but when I got it out to use on the new 710, it refused to hold in place, despite the 710 being on the list of 'fits'.  Does anybody else use it with this model or the 720 and do they have the same problem?  I think I might have to resort to Blu tack.

I saw this & I thought you may be interested! / Gutermann Toldi-lock thread
« on: February 17, 2022, 12:57:00 PM »
At the time I was looking for this, the cheapest was Samuel Taylors.  Yesterday I  got an email from Minerva and they are now offering at the same price, £2.99 plus of course their delivery is cheaper.  Most other places are £3.99 a cone.
