Hello and welcome from me, too @DiverDan  .  I'm seriously impressed with your sewing!  I wish I had the sort of brain that could work out pattern drafting - but I don't.   My DGS would also love the Paw Patrol bag!

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: New overlocker tips
« on: March 03, 2024, 08:20:48 AM »
I have a Babylock Imagine which is about 15 years old now.  I love it.  It marches merrily on without complaint - the only exception being at the end of lockdown when it completely seized up and I took it to a repair shop an hour's drive away - nothing wrong with it except that it was stuffed to the brim with lint.  I do, I hasten to add, brush it out regularly but this ball of lint was somewhere un-get-at-able.

Whilst there, the mechanic appeared to have cleaned out the air puffer thing which was a bit hit and miss at times.  Working fine now.  I wouldn't be without it.

Sewing Machines / Re: Celia’s new machine
« on: February 25, 2024, 08:26:09 AM »
Ooh @Celia   she's lovely!  I'm a big Bernina fan although I've never got on as well with my 570 as I should.  My first love will always been my ancient 1260.

Hi, I'm new... / Re: Hi, I’ve just joined the forum.

Hello and a big welcome from me, too @Clduk   !  Like the others, we have no fabric shops here any more so I spend a lot of time and money buying online and sometimes I even sew it up.

Nothing interests me, either.  I like the look of a wrap dress but they look terrible on me.  I'll save my pennies.

Oh how annoying, @Sara-S   !  After all your work too.  But yes, they should be fine as card holders, fingers crossed!

Thanks, @Lachica   I'm up for any time during the week too.  And dependent on train strikes of course  :headbang: x

Your Favourite Suppliers / Re: Rotary Cutter Blades
« on: January 25, 2024, 08:58:19 AM »
Ooh thank you so much @classical retro  !  I'm down to just one blade left and the pack of 10 which I've been working through have been awful - every one has blunted after just one use.  I'll give this site a go. x

I'm looking forward to this @Lachica  - it's on my list for 2024.

I only managed to get to Biba once - I think I must have been in my early teens and all I could afford was a Biba biro    I had it for years but don't know where it is now.

Hello @The Shrinking Sewist   and welcome from me too!   :VV:  Congratulations on the weight loss; that's amazing.   Am still thinking about the jeans sew a long myself; I have pattern, fabric etc but just the inclination now that's missing.  Good luck!  You'll get lots of help here xx
