Just bought this pattern.....
I need a challenge, now I’m debating buying the templates but at over £100 I think I might just have to use the paper patterns in the booklet.
-
What a fantastic project! That should keep you out of trouble!!
-
Wow!
That's a project for the year.
-
Do it do it :P
-
We want pics along the way!
-
Wow, that looks huge. How big is it? It is very beautiful though!
-
Not that big Missie just under 70" squareish ... perfectly quiltable!

Yeah, to some people. Us mere mortals may struggle more.
Effie that’s looks wonderful. I think you’re brave to even contemplate it. Looking forward to your fabric choices

Clever use of strips and checks add to the allure for me. Go for it.
-
Good grief, that leaves me shaking in fear! That'll be fabulous when it's finished!
-
Selected fabrics... all from stash
-
But first... a scrappy Christmas quilt
Got the inspiration from here...

We have progress
-
The Delilah quilt looks lovely and I like your fabric choices - can't wait to see it as it progresses. Amazed that you can just whip up a 'scrappy' quilt in the meantime. :loveit:
-
Progress report... just got a few half diamonds to do.. I thought it would be just a matter of cutting them on two but that way there’s no seam allowance so I need to make more...
-
Looking good! I look forward to seeing the finished thing!
Lx
-
The top is done...remind me never to do bias seams again...
-
@Efemera , may I ask you about fabric choice? Do you use your scraps or buy fabric specifically for your Jen Kingwell projects?
-
I bought a fat quarter stack from Hawthorne Fabrics in The US several years ago.
-
Beautiful!
I’ve just bought the Long Time Gone pattern and the Quilt Lovely book. I plan to make a Small Wonders cushion first.
-
That’s a nice pattern...I’m hoping to start mine on Saturday. I’ve cut the templates for the first block.
I’m machine piecing.
-
Well that went better than I thought it would...those small curved seam are a bit of a bother....
First block done. I need two of these.its around 12inches finished... she seems to use odd measurements though copying and cutting out the plastic templates isn’t the most accurate.
-
Wow @Efemera that's looking great! I love your use of colour! :)
-
Another block done 6 inch this time. Not very pleased with this one but as there’s another 6 to do I hope they’ll get better.
-
Difficult to do @Efemera ... Well done!
-
Shooting stars block done, it’s 12”... a lot easier than those tricksy curves
-
This looks amazing. I wouldn’t know where to start!
-
This one was really difficult luckily there’s a sew- along on See Jane Quilt’s blog with lots of useful tips. Just as well there’s another 3 blocks to do.

Another two blocks done. That’s section 1 complete...
-
We have progress... I have to say this is the most difficult quilt I’ve ever done. Tracing and cutting the templates from plastic is easy enough but fathoming out which bits join which is a nightmare...the Cockatoo block was the most difficult so far.
-
Rather you than me @Efemera !
-
Update..I think I’ll call this the Quarantine Quilt!
This has to be the most complicated patchwork I’ve ever done....
This block was hard, lots and lots of Y seams... but we have progress.
-
That is going to be stunning when it is done @Efemera
-
Blimey! :o
-
@Efemera you must have the patience of a saint, it’s wonderful.
-
Just about halfway... small 6x6 block to do...
-
That is looking great @Efemera
-
All those corners!
-
A little more progress...onto the second half now
-
This is going to be a very special, beautiful quilt-
-
About three quarters done....
-
Update...nearly there.
-
Wowzer!!!
-
All blocks done, sections sewn up and the first half all sewn together...
