Title: French Terry?

What's the difference between French Terry & jersey? Google says French Terry has a looped back, so I thought it would be good for toddler sweatshirt/hoodie, however I ordered some from eBay and it looks like poly jersey, thinner than I expected. No loopy back.

French Terry should have a looped back. It is slightly heavier than standard jersey  but not as heavy as sweat shirting. It does have a smooth side and like all knits they can vary in composition and elastane %. The one I have used have been 97% cotton and 3% elastane so quite a stable knit.
It is sometimes known as summer weight sweat shirting.

Thanks @sewmuchmore @Bodgeitandscarper I've been done! Well, it's useable, feels like nice quality but not as advertised & probably not warm enough for winter.

I've had 'French terry' 3 times from different places and each time it has been completely different.  One I would call a sweatshirt fabric (brushed back), one is a lightweight knit with a looped back and the other is a blue / white knit which could be reversible.
I don't take too much notice of the term now and go by the description according to what I want it for.
