Yes! I thought recent BOM's have been a bit on the easy side (trying to lure peeps to the Darkside) so I thought I might up the ante a lil.

I wanted to post a short vid of me sewing these as trying to explain on paper and trying to take pics whilst sewing is impossible!!

But I can tell you something, if you take it slowly you can sew curves ... I know I've done loads now!

I'm quite pleased with what resulted too but you're  going to have to wait til after the weekend for that!!! hehehhheehe  ;)

Oooh - gorgeous!  And no points to chop off.   0_0

I ought to do May's BOM first though...  I am all behind!   :o

Forgive me for I have wandered. I've been on the light side making things with big seams. I can't sew curves it turns out (or straight lines!!!) but I'm gonna have a rattle at this and keep it not overly curvy...just enough to give me a small heebeejeebee. I quite like the idea of straight too.
Nice block and gives me an idea for the teens for....later in the year.  :ninja:

Got it done this afternoon and have used odd  :S colours.

Maybe it was due to sitting for too long in the hot sun but I've got a sort of 'carnival' vibe with my fabrics.

Very vibrant -the vertical blocks remind me of a lava lamp. I’ve been plodding way at my Project Linus quilt today, but might try this one evening this week.

Oh dear, I’m not enjoying this block. Clipping curved seams to get them to lay flat belongs on the lightside and is not something I expected to be doing here on the darkside.

One block done, three more of the little darlings to do.

You dont need to clip any seams ...

they lie flat quite easily when you press them, just let them go in the direction they want to...
they should be gentle curves SIT

I finished the block last night - even the sashing had it in for me and required unpicking as the centre sashes didn't line up on the first attempt. The photo will have to wait until this evening as no doubt if I had tried last night the camera would have played up too.

@Iminei I think my curves might have been more curvy as I was trying to maintain a safe distance between my fingers and the rotary cutter.

Look forward to seeing the pics ...

BTW, when I do a BOM I usually have to make several blocks to get it right, get all the pics (and many efforts go wrong)
... with June's block I had to find the measurement by trial and error so made loads of blocks!!!

Consequently I got quite (only quite) good at sewing the curves ... and if I had the time (of fabric I have plenty) I would make a quilt or wall hanging from this block.

(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ywGLOwQohVjrRHH58CA0zYsXRoMvHkw1m3HdSKEXQjzgPhqKCks7IZBphU2zg9TjjmdVBFdQftbeJJ1eepcOP_ymK625ca5l5m-J18z-HGbqQ6cpNSUA9I7kQGaX0U4HYa2_J6TJoFyTShUUXFp7M78GgeAHh0XJMXCnqjUyMjm9hYYzE64l1Tla-0yUubEQT7_958ccqm-JlAMmbMOk8NIMAkjSGuFO-WkUGaF3pNOkIeIcByc-VeX_wVkvtPxyE1lpS4ZbfeTFCXuoz1Lu5NFZzS3Kqvwn_LcBFZCrf1cL0FQErb9gh_eh4ycPp6TFzeovBKQpOe9jdcXc0y3fveYiQruKBC_fJlQ4DhdXodyQXWqyFKXv_1Fw0VXW3YWncklS-I_UkoQ_GMW_AospcvNZAGChTqSooiyqGuaq4T2469A2n_GNAVs4PavzhVRNImdzMbOHh-bs0pwPl1CTtRnc4Iib6wyb4q43jcpZ74fDxojYSrUfHoaVOkwXkUjD2pWe33PE_9fwzzfZZFFXxaVOEXnU4MzPte9yVY84iNndMa79BFphBROHNDpHVq_AZyLrkANyYRw4807SDU_XR7-08LXqLocfyA=w959-h788-no)

These are some mini blocks I made whilst practicing sewing the curved seams.
They measure 5 1/4" x 4 1/2" ish and I was planning on joining them to make a sort of 12" block (finished) but obviously I got the measurements wrong so went larger instead.

I got my curves to behave themselves although it was a close on some of them. I tried very hard not to make them too curvy...and, yes...they lie nicely when pressed.

Well, here it is. I suppose in its favour, I didn’t have worry about my seams being a scant 1/4” or whatever.

As an antidote to outlining windows in the Village I assembled the prototype blocks I made ... which were really too small and fiddly for the BOM.

(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/n1_jY9KsuRAROLjwXX3Tv0KC2hGwigyH65phByqouM6pHD8y8pu9iE3ob_4fGfIkNziY2bd3Gi-NlCcDAXR-J9i5yc4plaOaKYuYyMDmqahP67QVjn52cL5qPHiyoNvYGbbhL0DME0Mc7y4e6n5QQ7rWI68CEENCfEooPaOYcRpueNhLxiOoYmeFOkV4QsMYABMm_5Iu17sb1r5FaWA3leF63tF9c8jBAfB44ioOtWcOG1qYZGDQve5lDRwwYgs-R84jVkoqhQa8tsvbzB63-VAYcvu7Sji49ocxYYeS-pqSs8fxx4K-aS061-1C9n797GQCWhKO5qp1oHkCC5YKvtO8fhYfGVJO-Hc5bGG6VRbCDoqGSmNpJ7hzXLpbYVljIxHn9DUcchEhSQNDJ19aRWWnxjTkC-3jQ5QEhfGW6NtDTytGFDP2VDQq5sY_HOXYQKM--aw7EZRiQN34TDFGbLAXrE5ZVSAM_K_LJ-1ibL_ZepjBv63SvslPcD8HaeKEx-F5slz98iInij1II11IO4B8ffKMfz1V9F0TgmLYlYHdMShvy06PVJbSbNJEdsajMDyzjhshZ38gb_YqCyUGjSMbx68gqmNgrXQUS7_Dvaly0PTuGEiSNX711klwDbdmIlwc3yA75_xznsy96o4RKkFBhg8=w924-h733-no)

I squared the individual blocks to 5" x 4" and used a 1/4" seam.
Still its a nice block and measures 14" x 11"

@crafter for some reason I cant edit or add a description to your pic,

May I also suggest you try and take your pics from as near vertically above or pinned onto a wall ... so the block can be straightened out in the album ...

unfortunately in this case I can do neither .. Could you send me a pic of it to include with your details into the BOM HOF ?

Is this better @Iminei

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

This one has been taken with my camera, so perhaps you will be able to edit it.  The last one was from my tablet.

I don't know the protocol of the HOF.  Do we place them in there ourselves, or do you do it after editing?

I cut the pieces out ready for this months ago. Now I've finally plucked up enough courage to rotary cut curves by eye. Curved seams here we come!

But after a coffee and picking the boys up from school. Rainy and windy so I'll let them play computers as long as they dont put me off!

Here they are!
Not time to square them up or sew together as the table needs to be returned to its other function or there will be a rebellion of hungry menfolk large and small.

FAB U Lous .... and how did you find the curves ?? Easy eh?

Well I'm at high altitude in the Austrian Alps at the moment so unfortunately cant reach the BOM HOF keyhole to let you in ... but be sure as soon as I get back I will be there and you, and Im hoping a whole host more of you, will be through the doors ....

Get your glad rags on, its the Christmas party coming up!!!
