The drawbacks (https://www.boredpanda.com/prom-dress-online-fails-tweets/) of buying cheap prom dresses from China.
-
I think there's a job waiting for me in China. 0_0

Part of the trouble is, we see a gorgeous, size 6, tall model and assume that if we buy what she's wearing, we'll look the same. Even if the dresses had turned out to be better style / quality, they wouldn't have suited the shape of most of the buyers....... ask me how I know -<

What a mess... but I bet there’s been a lot of tears.

@Efemera: doubtless, but the point has been made that for those prices you can't be getting the 'real deal'.

I have had a few China prom dresses to alter
-
A couple of them look like they could possibly be altered/adjusted to get a better fit.
I'm thinking of the dark green one #9, especially. That one doesn't look too bad.
Maybe even the red one #2 at a pinch, (but I'm not sure what's going on with the main fabric or the sleeves?)...and #3 could have the bust cups changed for a start....of course, it all depends on the quality of the fabrics.
Difficult to see what's happened to #4 :o :S ..the mint green one.
It's a risky gamble. I've been so lucky with the one I got my daughter.
Sandra.

You could fix 1, 3 and 8 by lining the bodice. Four is a disaster as it's both big and small in different places.
