I made myself a Cashmerette Appleton, never had such a success with a wrap dress before. Lovely pattern.
Prior to this, I washed my fabric....black jersey. Twice.
The body of the dress was black, the bands and sleeves were in a swirly 70s type of pattern with shades of green, cream and white. The dress looked really good and I loved the contrast between the colours and the black.
So I washed it. Complete with colour catcher sheets, just in case. The body of the dress is still black, the bands and sleeves are varying shades of sludgy greens/grey! It's going through the washing machine again as I type. Just in case...... (she types hopefully).
Somewhat miffed!

That's a bugger!

Arrrggghhhh!!! I feel for you, all that work and it isn't as if you hadn't 'taken precautions'.
-
Ugh!!!! That's so annoying!! Fingers crossed more washing helps :(

What a nightmare, I dread that happening. I hope it comes good in the end.

Aaaaghhh, what a bummer! :o

I know that I considered the dress a 'wearable muslin' but......
If I don't think about the colours that were in the dress originally, I can wear it around the house. The white parts are now wedgewood blue, and the greens are somewhat muted, but recognisable as green. :(
If I could remember where I got the black jersey from, I'd take it back! Not fit for the purpose.

Oh no grrrr.

Rant away! I would be furious! Still, now that you've made one, you can make a much nicer second one very quickly:)
