I have finally got an urge to make a quilt. I've got a batik jelly roll that I am going to use. I had decided on a straightforward braid quilt but I thought it was going to look a bit dull and I ordered a bit of fabric to liven it up a bit. However, on looking for something else I happened upon a quilt that I really liked using the braid technique so my plans have changed. I've ordered yet more fabric for the larger pieces.
This is a sample block made from oddments that I am not likely to ever use. I didn't have a pattern but worked out how the block was done and did multifarious calculations to make a block the size I wanted (about 13"). I will need to cut the big triangles a little bit bigger so that I don't lose the points at the end of the chevrons when I join the blocks.

Shall look forward to seeing what happens next!
What will the finished size be - or is that still to be decided?

I'm aiming for about 60" square - that's about as big as I can manage in one piece not that I want it any bigger.
