I have volunteered to make sewn gifts and decs for the school shopping evening fundraiser. I thought I had a lot of scraps of cottons that I could use. On sorting through though, not so much as I thought.
With FQ's at about £3.00, this random act of kindness could end up costing me lots. Is there anywhere that does really cheap stuff. I have looked at Pound Fabrics but they don't really have much.

Hi @crafter Have you tried
https://www.fabricland.co.uk/product-category/buy-fabric-online/
They usually have good prices :fabric: :vintage:

Thank you @Lilian. Why didn't I think of Fabricland - because the nearest is over 100 miles away that's why!
I will have a good look through tonight and order a few metres, that can be my contribution. Just hope that the stuff sells.

If you are not too fussed about the print The Textile Centre have a few really cheap cottons.
Search in the cotton and craft categories.

Another option might be to search your local charity shops for men's shirts, curtains or bedding.

Minerva (https://www.minervacrafts.com/shop/fabric/dress-fabrics&fibre=Cotton&sort=price-asc/) has a very good range of polycotton at £2.99/m - there's usually some cotton in there too.

I think you can't beat the prices at Fabric Guild (http://fabricguild.co.uk/product-category/fabrics/) I've had some super bargains from them. I recently bought some zebra fabric from them which was over double the price at Minerva. In my experience if you find the same fabric elsewhere it will always be cheaper at Fabric Guild.

https://www.online-fabrics.co.uk/Fabric-catalogue
has some inexpensive stuff. They charge for samples but they're about A4 size when they come so if it's patchwork you're doing they're not a total waste!
-
Another vote for Fabric Guild - I've had very high quality FQs from them at very low prices.
-
BST Fabrics are reasonable too, and you get free delivery when you spend £15 - easily done I find :D

What about Ebay sites like this one (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fabric-bundles-Fat-Quarters-Polycotton-Material-Florals-Gingham-Spots-Craft/201306639015?_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20151005190705%26meid%3Dcc9aa56d50694a1499dcd23e89c1f1bf%26pid%3D100506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D201306639015&_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226). Polycotton but at £5.65 incl p&p for a FQ bundle for your purpose, who cares? That seller is in the UK. If you're looking at others check that they're not in Hong Kong as you could wait weeks for delivery.

oh sew crafty (https://ohsewcrafty.co.uk/6-100-cotton-fabrics) are good on price

Thank you so much ladies. I have had visitors all weekend so not been able to have a good look yet. But tomorrow I will. Looks like some good bargains.
