Title: Pleated skirt
Post by: Silver Rose on May 18, 2020, 11:15:15 AM
I've just cut out a skirt using the dress pattern McCalls 7714, I am making  it longer - about mid calf. I am having a rest before I start on 28 tailor tacks for the pleats. I am using the teal cotton lawn with the small floral pattern.

Rather you than me, missus, but I am sure it will be lovely when done.  :D

28 tailor tacks? You're brave! It'll be a lovely skirt, perfect for the summer.

All the pleats are sewn and I've found a suitable zip. Will do the pressing tomorrow  and put the zip in.

Just got to finish the waist facing and the hem - maybe today although lunch in the garden and lazing in the sun might be preferable ;)

Thanks @jen , it is finished now. The waist facing is my own method for unlined skirts using bias binding.
