@Celia I was thinking something like this, it has a drawstring top which you can open out and it turns into a basket, could do a nice little Xmas hamper in this.

@Celia That's a pretty quilted bag, you've got me thinking now, maybe i could make one for my mum and fill with some diabetic chocolate and biscuits for christmas, or do a drawstring one....even quicker
something like this https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/743491538/drawstring-bag-patchwork-sewing-pattern?
I could make it a bit bigger so she could use it to keep her knitting in afterwards

@Sandra Thankyou, lets hope that that you'll get to see your mum soon, we had the same with the MIL, one of the staff tested positive and we couldn't visit for weeks, when is it all going to end i ask myself.

@Silver Rose Thankyou, hope you are resting after you op.

Good Morning all

Had a lovely sleep again last night, long may it continue.

Weather looks a bit indecisive, i can see dark sky and blue sky at the moment and a slight breeze, i don't think there's any rain forecast for today but who knows.

So it's Sunday which is supposed to be a day of rest  everyday feels like this at the moment, anyway i've found a cushion pattern so i'll be printing that off today and just sorting out some fabric, nothing else on the agenda for me.

MIL is back home from the hospital, the nursing home rang to tell us yesterday and said she was sitting up in bed full of chit chat, she's on antibiotics for the week so hopefully DH can visit next weekend.

Enjoy your day

Been up a while having slept like a log under my winter duvet 😁

No plans for today other than to find a pattern for my next sewing project, thinking of making a cushion for my nice new chair, thanks for the idea @Celia

Have a good day

This afternoon i dropped mum off at the eye clinic, the guy came out and said oh she’s going to be at least 2.5 hours  i said I’m not sitting here for that length of time so i drove home, just got in and sat down with a cuppa to try and sort mums kindle out and the clinic rang and said …..she’s ready  :headbang: i was not best pleased. Anyway i thought she can wait for 10 more minutes while I’m trying to sort her kindle out with Amazon chat, sorted it out and then i left to go fetch her. Just got on to the A23 and noticed all the brake lights  they had just shut the road to an accident so i was directed off cross country. This didn’t do my anxiety any good as i had no idea where i was going, sat nav directed me down a left turn and it was a single track farm road just wide enough to take the car  :faints: my heart was beating so fast and it really stressed me out, silly i know but I couldn’t help it. I noticed some cars further ahead that had also taken the turn so i put my foot down to catch up with them so at least I wasn’t on my own, the road seemed to go on forever. Anyway it took me another 30 mins to get there so mums all back home now. Glad I don’t go to work anymore as that was always happening but it was usually early in the morning when it was pitch black, scary driving for sure.

I’m sitting with my lovely lap quilt over me as it’s got quite chilly, DH said he was cold last night in bed so I’ve swapped the duvets over, he’ll probably say he’s too hot now 🤣. I’m loving this lap quilt, perfect size and I’m now thinking i might make another for myself but back it with some lovely soft fleece.

@Celia its so easy to lose your mojo but so difficult to find it again. I did think about some cushion covers and came across a pattern yesterday, i also thought of making an apron or a pinny as my mum would call it, would be handy when I’m doing my housework as i could pop the polish/duster in the front pocket whilst I’m moving round.

I really must find some enthusiasm from somewhere.

Same feeling here @Celia , i have tons of mainly patchwork/quilting fabric but just cannot for the life of me drum up any enthusiasm to make something that I wouldn’t use. The only thing i fancy doing is either some appliqué or a bedspread for my bed and i would use that and i know once i get started I’ll get stuck in and enjoy it, it’s just the getting going I’m having trouble with. I also want to quilt it by hand as I’m a lover of hand sewing, maybe if i find a pattern i like it may give me a push in the right direction.

Morning 😁

It feels chilly this morning so I think I’ll pop the heating on for a bit.

Nothing exciting planned for today, a quick nip to Sainsburys, finish the housework and then pick up mum to take to the eye clinic. Will take my kindle with me to read whilst she’s in there.

Enjoy your day

Morning all

Slept well last night, added an extra pillow and slept on my left side so all good.

We had torrential rain from late yesterday evening and all through the night, it’s stopped now but looks quite gloomy at the moment with a slight breeze.

Today I’m going to get some of the housework done, just need put the hoover round, dust and get some washing in, won’t have time tomorrow as I’m taking mother up to the eye clinic for an assessment on the other eye. The first eye that she had the cataract done has given her 20/20 vision so she won’t need glasses once this other eye is done.

Enjoy your day

@Tamnymore Funny you should say that, i popped out earlier and bought a bottle. The last time i used this was back in 2006 when i had gallstones and didn’t realise it, i was in absolute agony and was so desperate to get rid of the pain that I accidentally overdosed on gaviscon and passed out  i’ve already taken two teaspoons after my dinner and it says to have two more just before i go to bed.

Glad to say that I’m feeling a lot better than i did this morning, i’ve read that sleeping on your right side makes it worse as the stomach is higher than the oesophagus allowing acid to travel up easier, i always sleep on my right so that will be changing tonight. I’m also going to prop myself up a bit as well.
