They’d be cute little gift bags for cat lovers. I make this type of bag often as gift bags: they’re far more reusable than the shiny paper ones, which can’t be recycled (yet)…and I always have fabric to hand! : You’ll get faster @Bill.

Not long up after a long journey yesterday, travelling back from Donegal. It was our first time there in two years: so great to see all my husband’s cousins after so long. The weather there was gorgeous for October- on Monday we were walking on the beach in sunny 19C weather. We returned home to torrential rain and this morning there’s frost!
I took my knitting bag with me, but I’ll be glad to get back to some sewing. I just need a new project.

Lovely, @Ploshkin , I really like the neckline and the ribbing at the shoulders. I almost never knit anything bigger than for age 5- too impatient!

On holiday in Ireland at last, so I have my knitting/crochet with me, but it’s just a baby hat and some soap saver bags for the charity shop.

That is beautiful @Bodgeitandscarper . I think you’re being too critical of yourself . It looks most professional - you could sell them easily. People seem to love doggy gift items. I’m sure the lucky recipients will love them.

A Good Yarn / Re: Circular Knitting Needle Question
« on: October 01, 2021, 10:58:46 AM »
Now started a new cardigan that requires a 2mm circular pin, so I bought a Knit pro one after reading suggestions here. It knits beautifully with no snagging, but today I have a sore finger from the very sharp point. I suppose that’s unavoidable with such a small needle. I might have to put a plaster onto protect my finger in future - you can’t win!

Good timing @b15erk !  I’ve been knitting a cardigan for my new granddaughter, due in January. I had to use a 2.75mm circular pin and it drove me crazy the whole time, snagging on the join. I have a bag of all sorts of circular pins- really wish I’d invested in good ones at the beginning.  :S

I too have small (but not freakishly Trumpian small) hands with little strength ... I use a rubber glove kept under the sink for such purposes.

Good tip @Iminei , must try a rubber glove. I have various opening gadgets, but I still find some types of jars and bottles tricky. :D

Yes @ Flobear . I wondered where it went. -< I’ve sorted it now  :D

Glad they’ve arrived safely after their long complicated journey. So pleased that you like them. I made the hedgehog first: it being a sort of autumnal animal . I then decided he needed a friend - so you can use them if you have a friend for an autumn cuppa. :D :drink: :drink:

@Sheilago glad mine arrived safely  :)

Aha, I guessed it was probably you @Lowena, :ninja: but wasn’t sure exactly where you were or  whether anyone else was based in the Norfolk area. Thanks again  :D

These were not for the swap, but were inspired by it! So I thought you might like to see. I made 2 leaves originally for the TSP swap, but then decided to make something different. However, as it is such a good use of long thin scraps and little bits of wadding,  I got carried away and made 5 sets ( mug rug plus bigger pot holder) for a local charity shop and 1 set for a friend. I love a good scrappy project   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Here is my lovely autumnal patchwork mat, made by a mystery person in Norfolk. Thank you so much- it will now replace the Spring one on my kitchen table. :D  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
