I have your blocks now @whofilets!

Tomorrow I will re-allocate them and post them out on Saturday - well done everyone, they all look fantastic.  :loveit: :loveit:

@RJR_38   if you get stuck just shout. I'm sure either myself or Jen will be able to help.

I’m not sure what you mean but I appreciate the offer of help  :)

Don’t worry - life happens! I’m sure a day or two isn’t going to affect anyone in a major way :)

@Pearl your package arrived today.

I believe I’m just waiting on one more from @whofilets then I will send them back to everyone - all very exciting!!

20
Actually it isn’t your package catllar - I have ordered a quilt book online from a shop and it seems it is coming from France! I hope it is in English

Well done for the fix Pearl!

@fajita your package arrived today

@Catllar I think yours is on its way as I have tracking info for a parcel from France??

Looking good Pearl!

I have had blocks from some of you - if you have not yet sent your blocks a reminder that they should be with me by 11th August please so I can re-allocate and post your blocks back to you!

I will update the webpage of photos later this week :)

Quite eerie I'm glad I didn't go

It really wasn’t eerie Lowena - and there were parts that were much busier than that (and you still had to queue in some stalls and for food etc). There was still plenty of atmosphere - you just didn’t have to push past people to look at things or queue to look at a particular shelf (generally speaking!) - I preferred the fewer people (but would like the bigger variety of stalls back haha).

24
@StitchinTime that makes sense. I was a little disappointed it was so late next year as it towards the end of my summer holidays and I like it near the beginning so that I have time to play with all my goodies!

25
I posted in the other thread @Lowena - yes some of the big names were missing but I actually think it was better overall as it gave the smaller businesses a chance and I have new places to look online now as a result!

I have definitely fallen into the habit of defaulting to the same few companies who actually aren’t always the best value

I went yesterday and still enjoyed it.

Pros:

Much more space, aisles much wider so there was space to actually look, browse and shop this year!

No queues for the toilets and less queuing for food

The quilts were as good as always and you had a lot more space to view them. Some had been sent over from Europe as well.

Cons:

Less stalls than usual. Some of the big names were missing which I thought would disappoint me but actually it meant I spent more time at ‘medium sized’ businesses and spent more money overall!

No specialist stalls from abroad (obviously) and less variety generally eg there are normally stands selling ribbons or bag hardware but none of that.

I happened to sit near the exhibitor lunch area and overheard some interesting conversations between them about one of the bigger companies in particular who didn’t go when they realised the Europeans wouldn’t be coming over as they are the big spenders apparently - us Brits aren’t worthwhile…. Which is interesting!!

@Pearl I love my block! All those triangles   :scream: They are my nemesis unless I foundation piece!

July is usually my busiest month so haven’t had time to do much sewing - so despite always having a bag on the go I only did a small clutch this month for my sisters hen party last week. I have just started a purse for my first ever paying customer as well (eek!)  However, I can’t not enter an accessories contest when that is my ‘thing’ haha!

All fabric is Tula Pink and I used a scrap of pewter PU I had. It meant I had to make an extra join in the wrist strap but I think it came out ok.

Pattern is the Harlequin pouch which I hacked to add card slots to.

@Iminei the block with all the Y-seams was done by English Paper Piecing - so not as difficult as it looks! It was mostly made during the football matches

30
So I’m nearly finished - I’ve just got one more on the cutting mat for Efemera. Here are 2 blocks for @Pearl, the second block for @whofilets (with more flow in the dark fabric) and one block for @Efemera

Pearl - one of your blocks measures just over 12 1/4 in one direction - I could either get the points to line up or it to be exactly 12.5 - I don’t know why! Hope it won’t cause you too many problems… so sorry
