I've finished the row 11 so that's all pressed, one more row left to do which contains the basket. I've looked through my stash and unbelievably found nothing suitable :faints:, i'm not going to ruin it by just using anything so i've ordered these fat quarters which will arrive tomorrow, i think they'll make a lovely basket.

Fun with Fabric / What fabric is this?
« on: November 24, 2021, 08:52:06 AM »
Last week i turned a lovely white top into a grey one by accidently leaving something dark in the washing machine. What i'd like to know is what fabric type is it, there's no label as i've probably chopped it off at some point. it's very soft, hangs nicely and has a very short plush pile on it almost like velvet.

I tidied up my boxes of fabric yesterday

Good morning all

I slept well again last night, don’t remember waking up at all.

I’m still in bed at the moment, will get up in a minute, have my shower and then breakfast. Not sure what the weather is doing but I bet it’s cold again, not going anywhere so it can do what it likes.

I did think about doing the kitchen door today, it needs taking down, sanding, the wooden cornice needs adding and then glossing. The paint won’t dry in the garage as it’s far too cold so it will have to be painted in situ. I still need to get some handles to match the others but I think I’ll leave this until next week

Once I’m up and sorted I’ll be working on my balloon cushion, need to make some progress today on this seeing as I didn’t do any yesterday.

@Silver Rose i also need to tidy my fabric boxes, looks like I’ve been burgled

Enjoy your day

@Catllar We used to be able just to drive in and dump the rubbish but there was always huge queues, the local council has bought in a booking system, just go online, book your 30 minute time slot and turn up, it's been brilliant as i just drive straight in, dump and out. If you turn up early/late/without a booking they won't let you in. We are allowed five bookings per month.

Well i'm back from the tip, the nice man there emptied my car for me  on the way down my seatbelt felt very tight, it was if i'd gained two stone, i'm sure people were giving me funny looks  :S i think my seat belt was cutting off the oxygen and making my face contort  when i got out the bottom of the belt had got caught by something behind the seat

@Tamnymore I took your advice and thought i shouldn't really drive with an empty boot, it could be a safety hazard

@Celia I also took your advice and thought i should go to Hobbycraft and carry out a stock check    i can report back that most shelves were full, didn't see any sign of low stock. I got what i wanted and then drove back with my music on, singing to myself, the sun was shining....i feel good today.

This secret santa was just what i needed, it's given me a purpose and i'd forgot just how much i love buying for others. All my family are up north and only ever want money for christmas so no fun in that. I've already done some detective work and made some purchases. Thanks to @Iminei for organising this as it's lifted my spirit already  :perfect10:

@Bill it's so easy to get stuck in a black hole but not so easy to get out, i know how you feel. Come on here and chat, it's good to talk. We are all here to help

Morning  :D

I've been up since just after 7am, slept ok which is a first for a while. Just having my porridge and banana and i'll be set up for the day.

Well this morning i'm off to the tip to get rid of my old recliner chair, i've loaded the car up already and i have a slot booked for 10am and i'm debating whether to go to hobbycraft afterwards  do i don't i ? Mmmm i'll make up my mind on the way back.

Yesterday i got my invite for my booster and flu jab so that's booked in for Saturday morning, i'll be glad to get that out of the way.

Looks quite a nice morning but boy is it cold out there, will definitely need my fleece on when i go out. No jobs to do today (slight fib as i have lots of jobs but i'm not in the mood for doing the kitchen door...maybe next week). I'll carry on with my cushion today, in the warm, nice and chilled. No lunch to prep as yesterday i made my cauliflower and horseradish soup, enough for the week.

Enjoy your day

ps Where's @Bill hope he's ok

Well i've had a busy afternoon, mostly sewing and some unpicking , Managed to piece rows 1-10 together, spent ages redoing one part where one piece was incredibly narrow, couldn't leave it as it would annoy me. So now i have the balloon part sewn together, tomorrow i will do the two rows that form the basket.

Morning all

I hardly slept last night  |O woke up about 1:30 and that was it, DH decided he wanted all the bed so i was shoved right over and almost hanging out the bed with his elbow poking in my side, it's a kingsize bed so no excuse for hogging it.

The weather looks ok this morning, i can see a hint of blue and a slight breeze.

I have a few jobs to do today, need to make some cauliflower & horseradish soup and i have two bags of carrots to blanche and bag up ready for the freezer. Hopefully if i can get this done this morning then i can carry on with my cushion project.

Enjoy your day
